IT's Winter

"Oh Nolan, what has your mommy done to you this time"

Our first snow fall, it's didn't stick... but it warmed up really nice for a couple of weeks, now we're really paying for it with highs of minus 26

Nolan starting early at rock band, watch out Keith he's gonna beat you!

In review

It's time for birthday cake. Keith bought the largest ice cream cake ever made... Nolan loved the big yellow tractor on the cake.

"Trick or Treat". It was Nolan's first year of trick or treating, he got the hang of this after the first house. We visited 8 houses, lots of candy and chocolates to keep us well fed for a few months. Nolan was a skunk this year- the cutest ever (of course!)

Happy Birthday Nolan
. Nolan turned two on October 30th, he was very excited to open his first present. Uncle Steve moved in with us this month to spend some much needed time with Nolan and to find some work on the rigs.

Family Pictures

It's that time of year when we all get together for some family pictures. I am taking requests now if anyone else wants family pictures. Please let me know your available dates. My email address is apearce.5786@gmail.com

A breath of fresh air

Ahhh, At last both Steve and Claire finally come to visit us. It was so wonderful for Nolan to see his auntie and uncle. We went to the park and playgrounds daily and Nolan went to the West Edmonton water park for his first time. He had a blast, and went down the waterside all by himself. Weee heee... Our fearless little man.

The last taste of summer...

It's that time of season when the leaves change, the mornings are crisp, the evenings are cool and the air smells like fall; which brings us to the end of summer. August was nice, we had quite a few hot days where the thermometer hit 30 and then some... The mosquitoes were quite during the afternoons and then came out to eat me alive when the clock hit 6pm.

Nolan had a blast, slipping, sliding and swinging. We spent the majority of our time at the playground, mostly being on the swing or tire swing. Keith and I went on our first vacation without Nolan to the Shuswaps house boating. Nolan stayed with my parents and although the weather was miserable, we had a blast. It was wonderful to get away with friends and rip it up. We were on the boat for about 3 days, and we had about 5 hours of warm sunshine... and well the rest was pretty crummy.

Keith and I joined up with my parents and Nolan after the houseboat and went boat camping... The weather couldn't have been better... 38+ everyday, I was able to get a great tan! Nolan and I stayed in Kamloops a few days longer than Keith to relax by the pool and soak up a few more rays before heading back to Edmonton.

Our dayhome lady took the entire month of August off for holidays, so I was fortunate enough to find trades and have a few days of vacation. I was off for almost three weeks, and this time... I wasn't ready to head back to work. Nolan, Keith and I had a great family vacation.

It's back to work for me, Nolan is back in the dayhome, and well Keith is busy golfing and going for lunches with clients... and I am sure there is a few days where it's nothing but paper work (LOL).

We have both houses up for sale a few bites but no catches. We have our condo rented out to a nice couple and we are currently living in our house. We aren't overly optimistic that they'll sell, as the market is saturated with thousands of homes and condos; however, the market will only improve as the oil fields are suppose to pick up this winter which means more employment and more money for Alberta.

I hope everyone had a great summer, I will try to update the webpage more frequently now as the weather is starting to get cooooolder... It's suppose to be -2 on Sunday evening... YIKES!

Keith and I on the houseboat. There were 19 of us. We had a blast, looking forward to the next time we're able to get away... Maybe next time my parents can take Nolan and a baby too (no baby yet... just planning)

Nolan at the Calgary Zoo in August. We had great weather, Nolan loved the Canadian animals especially the deer, moose, birds of prey, snakes, fish and the bears. He didn't seem to think much of the Giraff, Tiger, Camel or wolves. In this picture he is riding the train. This was the highlight of our trip. Nolan sat on the train all by himself for the duration of the ride (it was a good 10 minutes) it was all smiles until it was time to get off... Then the tears and screams came... it was difficult to distract him at this point... the train seemed to be everywhere we went.

Here is "poppy" and Nolan in th boat. Nolan loved to drive the boat, and to beep the horn. We couldn't keep him out of the driver's seat.

Nolan being goofy... he was swatting flys saying "Shoo fly... Getta out of here". He has quite a few teeth, four of his molars are in... this makes eating much easier.

Kinsmen Park... One warm summer afternoon in July

Nolan and I spent our morning at the market... then on to the park. We met a very nice little girl who was much taller and bigger than Nolan; however, they were the best of friends for their time on the red slide

The Yellow slide... then the red... then the blue... and then repeat

Okay daddy... Let me go on my own... Nolan he's our little dare devil

On our way home

Wow what a quick trip. We had a fabulous time in Nelson, it's always great to head back there. We were lucky enough to stay with family and have my parents come down and meet us there. My 10- year reunion was great, it was awesome to see people and get back in touch... always so much to do and so little time.

We had a really nice ride home... although it took us nearly 15 hours, we made a few must needed stops...

This picture is of Nolan in Cranbrook, we took a hour stop to play at the park. Hmmm, always nice to have a break, maybe longer next time

Nelson Trip

Hainging out at Lakeside Park in Nelson. It was great to be back at home.... Hmmm, Nolan had a great time playing at the park. It couldn't have been a nicer day.

Our first ride on the trolly. Now that Nolan is a big boy, he had to have his very own seat.

Mom and me sitting on the trolly, good picture Keith!

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh" Nolan's favorite ride. All the kids were on this ride... Nolan found his voice

Father's Day Weekend at Cross Lake

Keith and Nollie... The slide was a great hit. It was our first time camping at Cross Lake. We had all our extended family out with us that weekend. All the kids had a blast together.

Nollie and I at the water front. Keith was the only one brave enough to plunge into the water. Nolan's toes barely touched the water.

Our big helper... At home after a great weekend camping... Now it's time to clean up

Hanging with mommy

We got the A' okay yesterday from Nolan's pediatrician... Yes he's a pip squeak, but growing well and doing awesome. It was just this past week where his vocabulary went from 15- 20 words to about 40 words. Can't keep up with him now... Watch your P's and Q's as he's repeating them all! He also has started to speak 2 and 3 word sentences... "here you go"... "up here Zak"... "I'm big boy"... "Burr it's cold"... "Uh oh spaghetti-oh"... and "hieeee, daddy... hieeee, mommy". I am sure that next week, there will be a few more words. Hmmm time flys, here are a few pictures of us this morning.

xoxo

St. Albert's Children's Festival

It was a good thing grammy came up to Edmonton for the weekend. I forgot about the children's festival, but fortunately one morning we stumbled upon it. Although, there were many things we did not buy ticket for, Nolan still had a great time talking to trolls and clowns, riding on a choo choo train, petting some very large birds, dancing to some live entertainment and buzzing about picking up and stacking cones. Hmmm, can't wait for next year... I am sure we'll have even more fun and be able to participate in more fun and games.

Look I'm petting the owl 'Jes'
