Itchy itchy, scratchy scratchy... Ooh I got lots of eczema down my backy...

Zak and Nolan hanging out together

Ouch!

Mmmm a big cookie

Nolan is absolutely covered from head to toe in red, swollen eczema... Poor little man. Thanks to benadryl, tylenol, oatmeal baths and special cream. We are scheduled to see a dermatologist tomorrow afternoon for some special treatments. That's one wonderful thing about living in a big center, there are always specialists and information on hand.

Despite Nolan's rash, he is in good spirits; he enjoys his tummy time, sitting up, jolly jumping, hanging onto Zak's chin hair and hanging out reading stories with mom and dad. He had his monthly check up with the pediatrician and all looks great. He remains in the 25th percentile for weight and head circumference and is developmentally slightly ahead for his adjusted age of six months.

He isn't quite sleeping though the night; however he is getting more used to his crib at night. His bed time is around 7pm and his usual wake up call is around 2. Nolan usually joins us in bed at 4'ish for a morning snuggle. It's always nice to have hugs and kisses from Nolan.

Stewlicious

Independence

Big Smile

Just a little help from mum

On the evening of June 7th, Nolan had his first taste of meat. I gave him a homemade organic turkey/pea/carrot/sweet potato stew. After 2 large helpings, prunes for dessert and a teething cookie he was a happy camper. I couldn't believe how much he ate. I put him on the scale yesterday and he tipped the scale at 16 pounds. I knew he was going through a growth spurt but I hadn't realized it was to that extent.

Today, our siding will be complete and our final painting touch ups will also be done. We will finally be able to add some of our pictures to the walls- adding a much more homey feel. We have so many pictures of our travels, Zak and of course Nolan. I am sure I have taken well over 2000 pictures in the last seven months.

Nolan slept his first whole night in his crib, each night it seems to get better and better. I was up with him once at 3:30am then he slept right until eight this morning. Keith and I actually had the whole night to ourselves. Amazing.

Not Again!!

Misty morning, looking onto the farm

Rats, it's another case of impetigo; this time it is on Nolan's elbows and back of his head... Geeze. Nolan is back on antibiotics for the remainder of this week, fortunately his skin is clearing up nicely.

Nolan has now slept in his own crib for one full week now. Well, I should say slept most of the night. It appears as though we do not have a child who sleeps the entire night like some lucky parents. Nolan sleeps in and around 4 hours at a time. So I get up with him once in the night, then the next wake up I bring him back to sleep with mommy and daddy... I am sure I have caused a bad habit and Nolan will be sleeping with us for then next few years... We may have to invest in a king sized bed.

All is good on the home front. Keith is eagerly trying to finish all the baseboards before the painter comes back later on this week. I am constantly vacuuming, dusting and moping our floors (do I regret dark floors... not yet, Ask me in a few months). We almost have all of our siding up and it looks really sharp, we will still need to finish the front of our house in stone. We will have a driveway in the next few days, so we are looking forward to less dust and somewhere to park our vehicles (as our garage is acting more like a huge closet). And somewhere in the next little while, we will be preparing our back and front yard with black dirt, then sod. I can't wait to have a yard... and a garden (we'll have to wait till next year for carrots and raspberries).

Here comes the bride... well almost. We will be tying the knot in less than a few weeks. I can't wait to actually wear my dress, whoo hoo. My seamstress is making the final alterations and I go for my final fitting this Friday. Nolan and I are flying back to Kamloops next Sunday to help with last minute arrangements and organization. I can't believe it's already here, and wow Nolan is already 7 months old...

Which brings me to Nolan... A growing weed, almost. He is now tipping the scale at 15 and a half pounds. He is still in between the 10th and 25th percentile for his weight and head circumference and in the 5th percentile for his height. He is doing really well, and is chatting up a storm. He really likes his teething cookies, and will make quite a scene when mommy takes away the cookie. He loves vegetables more than fruits, although has come quite accustomed to prunes (keeps him smiling and regular). Nolan is now able to sit up by himself with no supports. He is 7 months old, but actually is developmentally at 6 months (because of his prematurity; we will continue to put him back 6 weeks till his second birthday).

Well it's that time of night, when my lids are ready to close. I can't wait to see some of you at our wedding... The count down is on, I'll keep you updated with lots of picture of our house and our family.
